Grève de Blogasty... la position de Geekomatik.com
Bonjour tout le monde, comme vous tous je découvre ce soir que Christophe Lefevre, fondateur et webmaster de Blogasty a déclenché une "grève" de son site social "Blogasty". Il semble en effet que le fondateur du site se retourne contre certains utilisateurs du site qui utilisent le portail non pas pour trouver et proposer du contenu de qualité mais bien pour l'utiliser comme une plateforme de promotion totalement indifférente à la réelle qualité du site. Ceci est un exemple flagrant de plusieurs choses :
Premièrement que souvent la communauté qui utilise un site n'a pas toujours pour objectif d'améliorer la qualité de ce dernier, mais bien de s'en servir pour en profiter sans plus. Il ne faut jamais compter sur la "loyauté" ou le "respect" de gens qui ne participent pas réellement à un site mais qui ne l'utilisent pour en tirer profit. Cette triste conclusion me fait penser que c'est au webmaster à mettre en place des solutions pour garantir la qualité de son service et faire en sorte que les membres de qualité restent et que les autres aient tellement de mal à promouvoir leur contenu qu'ils préfèrent partir aller spammer d'autres sites.
Deuxièmement, le concept de Digg-like axé sur l'intelligence collaborative et collective montrent encore une fois au grand jour les limites de leur concept. Dans ce genre de sites, qu'on le veuille ou non, ce sont les plus forts et ceux qui ont le plus d'influence qui finissent par avoir le contrôle. Après tout, quand on donne le pouvoir à la masse, faut t-il s'étonner que cette dernière s'organise en groupes d'intérêts? N'est-ce pas là le fonctionnement actuel de la démocratie dans nos pays?
Tel que je l'ai mentionné sur mon blog plusieurs fois, cette mise en évidence des faiblesses de la publication "démocratique" remets selon moi en question le concept même des Digg-likes, qui ne sont en fait qu'un reflet cybernétique de la "loi du plus fort", dans lequel notre société est enfermée.
Troisièmement, cela mets aussi en lumière les transformations de la blogosphère qui passe tranquillement de système basé sur la passion des auteurs à un système ou on valorise et glorifie le blogueur "pro" qui vit de son blog. Après faut pas se demander pourquoi de plus de gens ne vont pas hésiter à essayer de frauder le système pour avoir plus de visites.
Quatrièmement, le concepteur de Blogasty a décidé de ne pas bloquer certaines catégories qui apportent potentiellement beaucoup de visiteurs comme les catégories "sexy" et "Adulte". Malheureusement, les blogs adulte, sexy et people ne sont là que pour avoir le plus de visites possible, donc en vont pas hésiter à faire tout ce qu'il faut pour aller sur le home page des sites sur lesquels ils se trouvent...
Bref, je crois que les problèmes de Blogasty sont malheureusement inhérents au concept du site et que les solutions appartiennent au webmaster du site et non à ses utilisateurs qui ne font que pousser le concept de "réseau social pour blogueurs" au maximum de son potentiel... Pour cette raison malgré que j'encourage fortement la discussion au sujet de ces problèmes Geekomatik ne fermera pas ses portes pour suivre le mouvement lancé par Blogasty. Par contre je suis content de pouvoir en parler ouvertement avec le créateur de Blogasty par l'intermédiaire de ce billet.
Sur Geekomatik ce problème ne se présente pas pour le moment vu le faible nombre de membres qui prennent le temps de voter mais le concept de Geekomatik est de justement pouvoir apporter des solutions efficaces aux problèmes connus par ces Digg-likes de "première génération".
1) Chaque user à sa propre Home page : D'ici Janvier 2009 Geekomatik retrouvera son système de recommandation avancé qui permettra à chaque membre d'avoir sa propre "home page" avec du contenu qui correspond à ses intérêts, afin de pouvoir diffuser le contenu du site de manière beaucoup plus appropriée, car un texte qui n'a que deux ou trois votes, peut être aussi intéressant pour certains membres qu'un texte de 300 votes pour les autres. Cela dit, si les membres ont tous leur propre home page, spammer le site pour aller sur le home page général devient beacoup moins intéressant.
2) Chaque membre doit avoir sa propre blacklist : Une autre fonction qui reviendra dans la prochaine version de geekomatik est la possibilité pour chaque membre de "bloquer" une source de contenu ou un auteur spécifique. Evidemment, un nombre grandissant de membres qui bloquent une source spécifique pourra éventuellement attirer mon attention pour que je voie si cette source est vraiment dérangeant pour la majorité, ou pas. De cette manière, si une source dérange un membre, il peut simplement la bloquer de son affichage personnel.
3) La spécialisation de la thématique en ce concentrant sur un sujet précis, aide énormément à bien modérer le contenu d'un site et à garder cette modération humainement possible.
4) La catégorisation du contenu par tags aide aussi beaucoup à augmenter la visibilité du contenu, maintenant que Geekomatik récupère les tags originaux du contenu agrégé la classification du contenu est de trés bonne qualité et très précise, ce qui aide les lecteurs à ne pas utiliser le home page mais bien les tags pour trouver du contenu qui les intéresse. L'utilisation des tags ouvre aussi la porte à la mise en place de "contenu reliés" qui partagent les mêmes tags et qui dont peuvent permettre aux membres de trouver du contenu intéressant sans se fier sur le home page.
Voilà, j'ai encore d'autres idées de solutions en tête, mais j'aimerais surtout connaître vos solutions à ce problème qu'on peut voir sur les Digg-likes?? Quelles sont vos solutions idéales??

Merci pour ton commentaire. C'est sûr que les digg like sont un peu "pris en otage" par leur concept. Je ne sais pas ce que rapporte un article en homepage, n'y ayant jamais été, mais depuis qu'on a lancé ce site, on en est à + ou - 3000 visiteurs et on en a eu 72 depuis blogasty, donc ça reste assez dérisoire. Si on y est, c'est plus pour être lu, ce qui reste le but principal de tout blog, que pour amener du trafic.
D'un point de vue totalement exterieur, celui du non blogueur que j'etais il y a encore 3 semaines, je ne peux m'empecher de penser qu'on ne peux pas à la fois demander le contenu du premier venu et une discipline absolue. C'est la même hypocrisie que d'autoriser les P2P et ne pas vouloir de contenus illégaux partagés. Un système libre entrainera forcément un peu de bordel. Donc soit blogasty vérouille mieux son système et attend donc de la qualité, soit il veut de l'audience et du contenu et est moins exigeant sur la qualité proposée et votée. Ta remarque sur les catégories autorisées est tout à fait juste. Autant quelqu'un peut bloguer sur les nouvelles technos ou sur Dragon ball Z parce qu'il est passionné, autant la plupart des blogs ou sites de cul ont pour but de faire de l'argent avec peu de reflexion et peu de frais. Si on autorise ces contenus, on cherche l'audience mais on attire les moins disciplinés des internautes.
je suis donc globalement d'accord avec toi et avec la nécessité d'une réponse technologique à ce problème de discipline. C'est ça ou faire copier 100 fois à chaque membre "je ne voterai plus pour des articles de merde", et avec le ctrl C ctrl V on se plaindrait encore de fraude :-p

Dénoncé déjà depuis plusieurs années, nos sites portaient le ruban bleu à l'époque et pour les plus durs un ruban noir avec le fameux logo "web indépendant". Pour les geeks (qui s'ignoraient encore) des rubans bleu, rose, vert... Les choses se sont accélérés dans le milieu des années 90. Connexion pour tous, multiplication des objets technologiques divers (même le gars des bibles n'aurait pas pu faire mieux !)... blablabla...
Tout ça pour appuyer cette citation, qui est le réel problème d'Internet ou dit sur un ton plus neutre son phénomène pervers. Quand notre meilleur ami pour rechercher sur le net est devenu numéro un, certains chroniqueurs à la radio (je n'avais plus le net désolé) parlaient de clic-o-cratie.
Être vu pour exister, ou pour l'instant être lu pour exister (ou pire montrer) devient le lobby number one des surfeurs du monde entier. La France est une petite communauté, nous sommes fainéants avec la langue de Shakespeare et de ce fait il y a un réel décalage avec ce qu'il ce passe sur les digg et digg-like anglophone et ici. Quand un article est propulsé dans la langue Anglaise c'est un réel succès. Mais les moyens ne sont pas les mêmes pour les propulser. Essayez de faire cliquer une personne 100 fois ou plus par article pour se retrouver au top !
Je suis d'accord avec la punition extrême pour copier 100 fois "je ne voterai plus pour des articles de merde", mais c'est où que je clique ?

Je viens de lire la réponse officielle de Geekomatik et je dois dire que je suis assez d’accord.

C’est effectivement très révélateur. J’avoue que personnellement j’utilise les Digg-likes tels que Blogasty, non pas pour proposer de l’info à la communauté (ce n’est qu’un effet secondaire), mais bel et bien pour y promouvoir mes articles.

Comme tu l’as très clairement dis, on ne peut pas reprocher aux utilisateurs de profiter un maximum des outils sociaux disponibles sur le web, mais c’est bel est bien au webmaster d’implanter des limitations empêchant de tels agissements.

Pour moi il est évident que le blogueur pro, qui vit de son blog, a tout intérêt à maximiser le trafic sur son site. Je ne stigmatise pas ici les blogueurs pro qui ont la chance de vivre ainsi, mais la passion est incontestablement le meilleur moteur pour publier des articles de qualité.
Rendement et qualité ne peuvent que très rarement faire bon ménage.
J’espère en tout cas que ce petit mouvement de grève aura permis à tout le monde de s’expliquer et de proposer des alternatives constructives pour une “réforme” des Digg-likes.
En revanche il serait dommage que cela crée des tensions entre blogueurs, ou pire que cela crée des clans.
